Welcome to Verizon Logistics' Electronic Commerce
Solution Site. Verizon Logistics is committed to communicating electronically
with its supplier community, and as a result we currently offer several
Electronic Commerce programs for our suppliers:
Verizon Logistics WebCommerce Program:
is designed to provide a simple and inexpensive transactional
functionality for suppliers who are not EDI capable. Verizon Logistics
has partnered with Enable Corporation to develop this site, which will streamline
the business-to-business communication of information with our
valued suppliers and complement our existing EDI program.
This site is designed for ease of use, and
with only minimal computer or Internet browsing experience suppliers
can search, view, print, download, and send information quickly
and easily. You may register by clicking on the 'Register Online'
link located at the bottom of this page.
EDI Program: includes an entire suite
of Order Cycle EDI transactions exchanged with EDI capable trading
partners. For more information, please contact us at: e-commerce@verizon.com
or (972) 718-3100.
For your convenience, Verizon Logistics document
specifications are available from the 'EDI Program' option, located
on this site's homepage.
Verizon Logistics Point-of-Sale Program:
allows select Suppliers to download
their point-of-sale information in pre-selected formats. For more
information on participation in this program, please contact us at:
e-commerce@verizon.com
or (972) 718-3100.
Verizon Logistics recognizes the significant benefits
that electronic commerce provides both partners:
Reduction in document processing costs
One purpose of E-Commerce is to exchange data using an electronic carrier
instead of using paper-based documents. The elimination of paper-based
documents implies that certain functions and tasks in an organization
will become obsolete. This efficiency improvement will lead to cost
reductions for both Verizon Logistics and its trading partner community.
Increased Data Accuracy Utilizing
E-Commerce reduces the errors that can occur from repetitive and manual
data entry.
Improved Speed of Communication Electronic
transmission of business data compresses cycle time. Details of transactions
are sent, received, evaluated and processed in a fraction of the time
usually associated with manual business processes. The entire ordering
and receiving cycle is shortened considerably, permitting higher productivity
in manufacturing, delivery systems and customer support.
Improved Document and Product Tracking E-Commerce
allows both trading partners to be automatically notified of documents
that were not received or processed correctly. This allows both partners
to manage by exception and focus their time where it is needed most.
