1.0 Overview and Summary

Verizon Logistics has developed its Point-of-Sale (POS) Program for the benefit of providing POS data to our Suppliers. Suppliers can download their POS data and other record layouts/DTD information quickly and easily to streamline business communications with Verizon Logistics.

A. Accessing your Verizon Logistics Point-of-Sale Data

The Verizon Logistics POS Program is available to select approved Suppliers only and requires prior authorization from Verizon Logistics. Access requires a valid USER ID and password, a standard web browser (such as, but not limited to Netscape Navigator or Microsoft's Internet Explorer) and Internet access.

Once you have received approval from Verizon Logistics, please follow the steps outlined below to access your POS data:

  1. On the Verizon Logistics Electronic Commerce Solutions Site homepage, select the Point-of-Sale (POS) Program option. This will display the Point-of-Sale Program menu.
  2. Select and read the Point-of-Sale Program Summary option, for a brief overview of the Point-of-Sale program.
  3. Select the Point-of-Sale (POS) Report Data - Verizon Logistics Confidential option to access your Point-of-Sale data. You will be required to enter a valid Login ID and password. Your login ID is your Verizon Logistics Master Code and your default password is your Verizon Logistics Master Code followed by the letter 't'.
  4. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU IMMEDIATELY CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD. To do so, click on the Point-of-Sale (POS) Vendor Account Maintenance option. Select the Change Password button and follow the prompts.
  5. Complete your company and contact information within the Point-of-Sale (POS) Vendor Account Maintenance option. (Billing and Remit To information is not required).
2.0 System Requirements

Using the POS Program will require a personal computer, with Internet access and a standard web browser, such as Netscape Navigator or Microsoft's Internet Explorer. These web browsers are usually available free of charge from your Internet Access Provider. If a supplier needs assistance locating an Internet Access Provider, they can contact Easylink Services International Corporation (formerly EnableTrading) at 1-800-342-4401 for a recommended Internet provider. The web site is best viewed with the following minimal requirements:

  1. Netscape Navigator (version 4.x or higher) or Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 4.x or higher)
  2. Computer monitor resolution configured at 800x600 pixels and supports 256 colors.

There is a bug within Microsoft Access97 preventing the TXT files to be Imported. Microsoft Access 2000 is able to import successfully.

 

3.0 Using the System

To access the web site, you must first connect to the Internet. From your web browser enter address http://www.edixchange.com/vzn. This will bring you to the Verizon Logistics Electronic Commerce Solutions Site. From this screen, select the option 'Point-of-Sale (POS) Program' which will bring you to the Point-of-Sales Program menu. You may acquire your POS data by selecting the ' Point-of-Sale (POS) Report Data - Verizon Confidential Document' option. The system will prompt you to enter a valid login ID and password; in the "User Name" field, type your Verizon Logistics USER ID, then type your password in the "Password" field and click on "OK".

In the event you have forgotten your password, please contact the EasyLink Customer Satisfaction Department at (800) 342-4401.

PLEASE NOTE: POS data reflecting activity for the previous calendar month will be available on the 5th day of each month. Once new POS data is received, the previous month's data will no longer be available to you at this Web site.

Point-of-Sale POS Program Summary: View a brief description of the POS program including the type of data available for approved Suppliers, as well as information about site objectives and site security.

Point-of-Sale (POS) Report Data - Verizon Logistics Confidential (Approved Suppliers): Sign on using a valid USER ID and password to download your POS data.

Vendor Account Maintenance (Approved Suppliers): Validate the accuracy of your business name, address, and contact information with Verizon Logistics. The Supplier has the option to update this information as needed. Please note the importance of the accuracy of this information; it helps Verizon Logistics to verify who you are for security purposes, as well as to communicate with you effectively. We suggest that you periodically check the accuracy of this information and be sure to update it when changes to your business occur.

The Verizon Logistics POS Program is designed for ease of use with minimal computer or Internet browsing experience. The system is designed to allow a Supplier's to download their respective POS data.

Rest assured that Verizon Logistics and EasyLink value your business as much as you do. As a result we have taken the steps necessary to ensure that highly effective Internet security measures and software protect any transaction you receive or send. To further ensure that only your authorized staff may access your account, we encourage you to regularly change your password.

 

4.0 Document Archiving

It is important to note that Verizon Logistics will only post one month of POS activity data on web site. If you have a need to acquire past POS data, please contact e-commerce@verizon.com or (972) 718-3100.

Q. Can I actually view the POS data online?

A. No, the file size of each file restricts this ability. Due to the significant amount of data contained in each file, we do not recommend that you attempt to view your POS data within your Web browser. You are required to save your file to your PC prior to attempting to view its contents.

Q. What is a Distributor file?

A. A Distributor file contains POS data where Verizon Logistics has purchased material from a supplier and re-sold it to our customers.

Q. What is a VAR file?

A. A VAR (Value Added Reseller) file contains POS data where Verizon Logistics Network Services purchased the material from a supplier and provided a value added service supporting internal networks.

Q. What is a Master file?

A. A Master file contains the Distributor and VAR POS data rolled up into a single report.

Q. Is there another way to access my POS data, other than through my Web browser?

A. Yes, EasyLink offers a number of EDI Outsourcing options; please contact us at (800) 4EDI-HELP (433-4435) for additional information.

Q. In the event I would like to explore other alternatives to EDI, do I have any other options?
